The road to Srotor was long and dusty. It is a small fishing village in the Gonja land of the Savanna region with about 250 people. Most of the people are Muslims. There are a few Christians and traditionalists. They speak Ewe, Twi, and Hausa. They live in peace and unity.
There is no electricity in the village. At night, they use lanterns. Some people ride long distances to charge their phones. Sometimes they charge them when the mosque turns on a generator for prayers. Even then, there is no stable network.
When we visited, we wanted to see the leader of the Christian family, but he had traveled. We could not call him because there was no cellular reception in the village .
As we sat and looked at the village, we felt there was a need for a mission pole to broadcast the Good News about Christ. It would also help the people in many ways. Just like the Samaritan woman who went to the well and found Christ, we believe God has a purpose for Srotor.
